Carnival of Terror Obby The Evil Clown
Chase, jumpscares, the mouth gate, and the Fun House head — a route hazard, not a health-bar boss.
The Evil Clown is why the place is called a carnival of terror. PlatinumFalls’ listing says you have been locked in an abandoned carnival by an evil clown, warns of mild jumpscares, and tells you to watch out for him in a crazy Fun House. He is not a raid boss with phases. He is a chase, a camera scare, and two pieces of giant architecture. If you came here looking for a health bar, you can leave that idea at the gate.
This page covers how he behaves, where he appears, and what actually kills you. For the plaza route, use beat the clown. For the rooms behind the clown head, use funhouse. For the boy who warns you first, use Jim. For the rest of the cast, return to the Players Hub.
Jumpscare warning
The Roblox listing marks mild jumpscares. Maturity on the place lists mild fear. That is the honest warning: audio stings, a sudden clown in the plaza, and camera-lurch moments in later rooms. It is not a gore title and not a jumpscare marathon, but it is enough to make people miss a jump they already know. If loud stings bother you, lower game audio before the fence after the boiler. The chase is still the same path with the sound down.
Dying to a scare is still a death. Checkpoints reset if you leave the experience, so a panic quit sends you back to the mouth gate, not to the last pad. Stay in the server if you can.
The mouth gate (spawn architecture)
You spawn in front of a carnival entrance shaped like a giant clown head with sharp teeth. That is the lock-in made visible. Jim stands to the right with a balloon and explains that you need to escape. The gate does not bite. Walk through the turnstile after you read him. Early lava rails sit behind it. New players sometimes wait for the clown to spawn at the teeth. He does not. The hunt starts later, after the boiler, when you climb back to the plaza.
Treat the mouth as a door. S-tier on the stage list is the chase, not this doorway.
Plaza chase toward the Ferris wheel
After boiler fire, saws, and the ladder, you return to the surface. Jim is near boxes. You climb a fence. Music shifts. The Evil Clown pursues with a knife. Your only job is to reach a Ferris wheel cabin without getting caught.
What the chase is:
- A straight pressure test. Cut wide left or right. Do not turn around to look at him. Looking is how the camera dies.
- No HP bar, no parry, no stun. Lightsaber, minigun, and flamethrower do not end the hunt. Combat toys are Fun/F on the gamepass list.
- A huge time-loss room. Fail here and you replay the approach, which is why the stage hub parks it in S next to late Fun House.
What the chase is not:
- A scripted cutscene you can skip.
- A fight you win by standing still.
- A section Jim tanks for you. He only tells you he can hear the clown clapping and that you should make your way up to the Ferris wheel.
Once you sit in a cabin, the ride carries you. Do not jump out. The clown’s job in this chapter is over. Doom Drop is next, and that is timing, not a second hunt. Step-by-step movement, including what to do if you freeze, lives on beat the clown.
Flight and teleport skip the plaza. That is allowed. It is also a different kind of clear. Say so if you post a time.
Fun House clown head
After the volcano, Jim says that place was scary but you are still locked in the carnival. The next building reuses a giant clown head as the door — the fire-hair clown head from the official thumbnail. Inside is the Fun House: laser strips, narrowing walls, a mirrored corridor with traps, vanishing platforms, rotating laser walls, then a treadmill with blades that move up and down. The head is a landmark, not a boss arena.
You do not damage the face. You do not wait for a mouth to open as a DPS check. You enter, you parkour, you leave toward the roller coaster. Late Fun House is S-tier because rooms chain and scares stack, not because the head stands up and fights. Room order is on funhouse.
How other players and gear interact
Up to 10 avatars share the plaza. Someone else’s death does not save you. Someone else’s helicopter can lift you over the chase if they own the pass and you sit in a passenger seat. Zombify and vacuum can ruin a friend’s legit attempt. None of that changes the clown’s rules.
The clown is not a selectable class. You cannot play as him. You cannot befriend him. There is no hidden good-clown ending on the public place.
Practical rules
- Read Jim at spawn. Ignore the teeth until you are ready to jump.
- Clear the boiler so you actually reach the fence.
- When the music changes, commit to a wide line toward the Ferris. Camera forward.
- Board. Ride. Do not duel.
- Treat the Fun House head as a door into lasers, not as phase two.
- If panic is the real killer, practice that one fence in a sitting. Average playtime is about 9.26 minutes; many visits never see the cabins.
The antagonist of Carnival of Terror is a pathing problem wearing a clown suit. Beat the path and the suit stops mattering. For the NPC who keeps pointing at the next ride, stay with Jim. For the plaza drill, keep beat the clown open in a second tab until the scare is boring. When you need the whole cast in one place, the Players Hub is the roster index — and the clown is still just the name on the gate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common carnival questions.
Is the Evil Clown a boss with health?
No. He chases you to the Ferris wheel, scares the camera, and appears as a mouth gate and Fun House head. You do not drain HP. See beat the clown.
When does the chase start?
After the boiler, when you climb back to the plaza and hop the fence. The spawn mouth gate is only a door. Jim warns you before that.
Do weapons stop the clown?
No. Minigun, flamethrower, lightsaber, and other combat toys do not end the hunt. Skip tools can ignore him. Ranks are on the Gamepass Tier List.
Are the jumpscares intense?
The listing says mild jumpscares. They are enough to break a jump if you spin the camera. Lower audio if stings bother you; the path stays the same.
Is the Fun House head a second fight?
No. It is the door into laser and vanishing-pad rooms. Walkthrough for those rooms is funhouse.
Can I play as the clown?
No. You are always your avatar. The clown is an NPC threat. Roster context sits on the Players Hub.
