Carnival of Terror Obby Carnival Cast

You jump. Jim talks. The Evil Clown hunts the plaza. That is the whole roster.

Players Hub

Escape The Carnival of Terror Obby does not ship a gacha roster or a PvP lane. The cast is three roles: your avatar, Jim at the gate, and the Evil Clown who owns the abandoned carnival. Servers hold up to 10 players. Everyone shares the same rides, but each avatar still has to clear the parkour. There is no party buff, no healer, and no boss HP bar to burn down.

Read this hub first if you searched for characters, NPCs, or a clown boss. Then open the dedicated pages: Jim for the balloon boy, Evil Clown for the chase and the mouth gate, and multiplayer for 10-player servers. If you died in the plaza, skip ahead to beat the clown. If you just spawned, use getting started.

You (the player avatar)

You are a standard Roblox avatar. No class select, no starter weapon, no pet required. Movement is WASD or thumbstick, space to jump, camera orbit to read depth. Shift lock helps on thin Fun House beams. Full mapping is on controls.

Your job is the course: lava rails, boiler fire, plaza chase, Ferris, Doom Drop, volcano, Fun House, roller coaster. Over 25 obstacles and about 24 checkpoints sit on that line. Checkpoints reset if you leave the experience, so the avatar you bring back tomorrow starts at the gate again. Mild jumpscares are on the listing; they target the camera more than the health bar, because there is no health bar.

Other players can help or grief. A Mini Helicopter has two passenger seats. Zombify, vacuum, and shrink ray exist to mess with the other nine people. None of those tools are required. A solo on-foot clear is the default. Online multiplayer just means you might see someone else miss the same fire jet.

Paid gear changes how much of the map you still jump. That ranking lives on the Gamepass Tier List, not here. This hub only cares who is in the carnival with you.

Jim

Jim is a boy NPC at spawn, standing to the right of the toothy clown-mouth gate with a green or blue balloon. He explains that you are locked in an abandoned carnival by an evil clown and that you need to find a way out. He is harmless. Jumping on the balloon does nothing. It is not a gear, not a double-jump, not a quest item.

The same balloon boy shows up again as a signpost: near the boiler entrance, after you climb back to the plaza, before Doom Drop, beside the yellow portal, and after the volcano when he admits that place was scary but you are still locked in. Treat every appearance as a breadcrumb, not a companion. He does not fight the clown. He does not board the Ferris with you. Details, dialogue gist, and what not to expect sit on the Jim page.

Talk to him on your first spawn. Then leave. The D-tier plaza on the stage tier list exists so you do not stand there waiting for a tutorial fight that never starts.

Evil Clown

The Evil Clown is the carnival’s threat, not a separate raid boss. You see him in four ways:

  1. The gate. Spawn looks at a giant clown-mouth entrance with sharp teeth. That is architecture. Walk through after Jim.
  2. The plaza chase. After the boiler you hop a fence, the music shifts, and he pursues you toward the Ferris wheel. No HP, no stun. Reach a cabin or retry.
  3. Jumpscares. The listing warns of mild jumpscares. They are meant to yank the camera during the hunt and in later rooms.
  4. Fun House head. The official thumbnail and the Fun House entrance reuse a giant clown head (fire-hair look in the thumb). Inside is parkour, not a phase two fight.

You do not deplete a health bar. You do not need a minigun. Combat passes are Fun/F for a reason. The chase is a movement test scored S on the stage list. Room-by-room Fun House notes are on funhouse. The character page is Evil Clown.

How the three roles meet

Typical first session:

  1. Spawn. Read Jim. Enter the mouth gate.
  2. Survive intro tracks and the boiler without treating fire jets as a person.
  3. Face the Evil Clown in the plaza. Cut wide. Board the Ferris.
  4. Follow Jim’s later signs through Doom Drop, the portal, the volcano, and the Fun House head.
  5. Ride the coaster out.

If the chase is eating the whole night, you do not need a better character. You need the beat the clown route and a calmer camera. If you have not even left spawn, you need getting started, not a tier list of units.

There are no hidden partners, no clown that becomes friendly, and no Jim that picks up a sword. The roster stays three names. Everything else is a ride, a kill brick, or another player’s avatar.

Friends in the same lobby are extra avatars, not extra classes. Multiplayer covers callouts, helicopter seats, grief toys, and why a co-op speedrun time is not a solo glitchless time.

When you know who talks and who hunts, the rest of the wiki is geography. Use Jim when you want the NPC, Evil Clown when you want the antagonist, and getting started when you just need to leave the gate before the server’s 9-minute average playtime is already over.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common carnival questions.

Who are the characters in Carnival of Terror Obby?

Your avatar, Jim the balloon boy at spawn, and the Evil Clown. There is no extra playable roster.

Is the Evil Clown a boss fight?

No. He chases you in the plaza, scares the camera, and shows up as a mouth gate and Fun House head. You do not drain HP. See beat the clown.

Does Jim help me fight?

No. He explains the lock-in and points toward escape. The balloon is not a tool. Full notes on the Jim page.

Can friends play as the clown or as Jim?

No. Other people in the 10-player server are avatars like you. Jim and the clown are NPC / threat roles, not class picks.

Where should a new player start?

Talk to Jim, then follow getting started. If you are already stuck in the plaza, jump to beat the clown.

Do I need a gamepass character?

No. Passes are tools, not new roster members. Ranks sit on the Gamepass Tier List.
