Funhouse Guide for Carnival of Terror Obby

Read the squeezing halls, ignore fake corridors, and leave through the roller coaster.

Funhouse Guide

The funhouse is late. If you are reading this at the clown-mouth gate, you skipped work. Clear lava, the boiler, the plaza chase, Doom Drop, the portal, and the volcano pads first. Those rooms are on the full walkthrough. The numbered sheet is the checkpoint map. This page is only the distorted interior that sits between “we are still locked in” and the roller coaster that actually lets you leave.

Jim’s line before this act is the useful one: the last place was scary, and you are still trapped in the carnival. The funhouse entrance repeats the giant clown mouth from spawn on purpose. That copycat door is a scare, not a second plaza chase. Do not apply the wide left-or-right sprint from Beat the Clown inside these halls. The clown in the plaza is a speed problem. The funhouse is a reading problem.

What the rooms are doing

Halls squeeze. Floors look like they taper. Mirrors suggest extra corridors that are not walkable. Commentators call it an optical illusion and then walk into a wall that was never a wall. Slow the camera. If a corridor exists only in the reflection, it is decoration. If a gap still has collision when you inch forward, it is the real line.

Stay low enough to see the floor seam. Many fake paths are painted at eye height. The true path is often a dull strip that does not match the poster art. When two openings look identical, pick the one that continues the last checkpoint’s facing. The funhouse is still a forward obby. It is not a looping maze that requires a drawn map if you refuse to take every shiny alcove.

Jumpscares here are mild, same as the rest of the listing: a face in a mirror, a sudden squeeze, a laugh in the audio. They are there to make you steer into glass. If you freeze, you still have the last funhouse checkpoint. You do not get sent back to the Ferris wheel. That is why this room is kinder than the plaza even when it looks meaner.

Routing without getting cute

Enter the mouth, then take the first honest platforming line you can stand on. Ignore side rooms that exist only to host a scare prop. If you fall, look for the same climb language the boiler taught you — ladders, pipes, a return ledge — before you reset your brain to spawn. Friends in the 10-player server can stand on the real path and become cones. Use them. They cannot pull you through glass.

Bear-trap style floor hazards show up in some recordings of this act. Treat anything that snaps as a timed gap, not as a puzzle you have to disarm. Wait, step, wait. The same beat logic from the boiler works because PlatinumFalls reuses trap timing even when the art becomes circus wallpaper.

Do not hunt a secret key. There is no extra boss locked in a mirror. The funhouse exists to stall people who just learned they can survive the clown and then got cocky with camera spins. Shift lock can help in straight squeezes and hurt in rooms that need a peek around a corner. If the lock fights the illusion, toggle it off, peek, toggle it on, commit. Input detail lives on Controls.

VIP speed from the gamepass list is a mixed gift here. Faster movement makes it easier to overshoot a tapering floor into a pit. Default speed is easier to read. Save coils for volcano pads or for a later timed run on the speedrun guide. A legal first clear should look almost slow in these halls.

Leaving toward the coaster

When the illusions stop and you see ride structure again, you are done interpreting and back to sitting. The roller coaster is the escape vehicle for the whole experience. Board it. Do not jump mid-track to flex. The winner’s room at the end is small on purpose. You already beat the park by reaching the seats.

If you got here and still feel lost, you probably entered a decorative alcove and turned around until the last checkpoint no longer matched your memory. Walk back to the previous spawn plate, face the direction you were traveling when you earned it, and take the ugliest opening. Pretty corridors are the lie. Ugly floors are the line.

Use this page as a late-game insert, not as a replacement walkthrough. The guides hub still wants new players in Getting Started and in the plaza article before they care about mirrors. Come back only when the mouth door is in front of you and the volcano pads are behind you. Once the coaster moves, stop reading. The carnival is already letting go. Your next sitting, if you want one, is either a cleaner legal clear or a clock. The funhouse will still be a reading test. It will not become a fight.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common carnival questions.

When do I reach the funhouse?

After Doom Drop, the portal, and the volcano speed pads. If you are still in the boiler or plaza, stay on the walkthrough.

Are the mirrors real corridors?

Usually not. If a path exists only in the reflection, it is art. Inch forward and trust collision, not the poster.

How do I avoid getting lost?

Face the direction of the last checkpoint, take the dull floor, and skip shiny alcoves. The checkpoint map names the act if chat is chaos.

Is the plaza clown inside the funhouse?

The mouth door is a scare callback, not a second chase. Wide-cut tactics stay on Beat the Clown.

What comes after the funhouse?

The roller coaster. Ride it to escape. There is no extra boss arena in the winner's room.

Should I use a speed coil in here?

Not for a first clear. Extra speed makes tapering floors easy to overshoot. Learn the line, then time it later.
